Our Atelier

In short

Most suppliers in this category are trading companies. They buy from a workshop, mark it up, and send you a catalogue. We are the workshop. This page exists so you can check that before you send us money — and so you know exactly what you are putting your name on.

1950 the bench opened

The same trade, in the same city, since the year the workshop was founded. Three generations of one family.

100,000+ pairs made

Not a projection and not a capacity claim. Pairs that have been cut, stitched, boxed and shipped.

15+ countries

Exporting since 2020, delivered duty paid. The customs paperwork is routine for us, not an experiment.

01The workshop

We work in Gaziantep, a city in southeastern Türkiye that has made leather footwear for as long as anyone has kept records. Our atelier is a family business, now in its third generation, and it makes one thing: hand-lasted leather shoes.

There is no second factory, no subcontracted line, no white-label sourcing behind the curtain. When you order from us, the pairs are cut on the same benches you see in our film archive, by people whose names we know.

That is the whole proposition. Everything else on this page is evidence for it.

02What we make

Barefoot-construction leather footwear: zero drop, wide toe box, flexible sole. Loafers, boat shoes, derbies, sneakers, ballet flats, Chelsea and chukka boots, tall boots. Women's and men's, in the full size run.

More than seventy separate operations turn a hide into a finished pair: cutting, skiving, closing, lasting, sole pressing, edge burnishing. Most of them are done by hand. That figure counts what happens at the bench — it is not a total padded out with paperwork and logistics.

Groundingcopper K1 rivet, insole to outsole

The copper rivet is the feature your customers will ask about most. It is a physical conductor set through the shoe, and we describe it exactly that way. We make no health or medical claims about it, and we ask that you do not either — in the United States that language is regulated, and a claim you publish is a claim you own. There is a full explanation on our Copper Rivet page you are welcome to draw from.

For the step-by-step construction sequence, see Process.

03Your content

The hardest part of selling a physical product you did not make is having nothing to show. Every partner gets our full asset set, free, cleared for publication under your own name.

Photography. Studio packshots on a neutral background for every model and colour: profile, three-quarter, and the sole. No branding in frame, sized for your site and for marketplace listings, ready to upload as they are.

Lead your listings with the sole shot. It is the one that shows the copper rivet and the hand-stitched leather outsole, and it is the frame your competitors cannot match.

Production footage. We filmed the making of roughly three hundred pairs — one for every model and colour — from hide selection to the finished shoe. Hundreds of hours. Ask for the footage of any model you sell and we will send clips selected so that no branding of ours appears in frame, no watermark, yours to cut as you like.

Your customer sees the actual construction of the pair they bought, not a stock video of a generic workshop. No trading company can offer this, because no trading company was in the room. It is the single hardest thing in our catalogue for a competitor to copy.

What we do not send. Our atelier photography and our lifestyle imagery stay with us. Partly because they are our own brand's work, and partly for your sake: forty partners publishing the same shoe on the same foot in the same field would leave none of you looking like anyone in particular. Packshots are functional and interchangeable by design. The pictures that make your brand recognisable should be yours, shot by you, and no supplier should be handing them out.

04Capacity

We scale by adding benches and hours, not by sending your order to another factory. That means growth is gradual and honest: if a volume is beyond what we can hold to standard, we tell you before you pay rather than after.

In practice no partner has yet hit our ceiling. If you are planning a launch, a seasonal spike or a wholesale programme, write to us with the numbers and the months and we will tell you plainly what we can commit to.

05Who we make for

We produce for other brands in this category. We will not tell you who they are — not their names, not their volumes, not their models. We will not hint at them either.

That is not evasion, it is the terms of the deal. The same discretion that keeps their name off our site is what keeps yours off it. Boxes ship white-label, our name appears nowhere in the shipment, and we never use a partner's brand in our own marketing without written permission.

If you need reassurance about scale rather than names, ask us directly and we will answer in a way that breaks no one's confidence — starting with a live call from the workshop floor.

06Come and check

Three ways to verify everything above, in ascending order of effort:

  • Order a sample box. Four pairs, in your hands, on a real foot. Its cost comes back as credit against your first wholesale carton within six months.
  • Ask for a live call from the floor. We will walk the workshop with a phone camera, at your hour, and answer whatever you want to ask on the way.
  • Visit. Gaziantep has an international airport. Partners have come before. Tell us when and we will meet you there.

Suppliers who cannot do the second one are usually not the manufacturer.

Why this matters to youYou are buying one link, not three

Every intermediary between you and the bench takes a margin and adds a week. It also adds a place where your specification can be misunderstood and no one can be held to it.

Here there is one link. The person who quotes your price can walk to the bench and look at your order. That is why the remake clock is 14 days to report, 2 to decide, 5 to produce — those numbers are only possible when the workshop and the seller are the same company.

Start here

The sample box is the intended first step: four pairs, approximately five business days in production, shipped DDP, credited against your first wholesale carton. See Dropshipping or Wholesale for how each programme works, or write to info@edeshoes.com with what you are planning.
